APRÈSFOU
BEYOND ABSURDITY
Après Fou defines sanity and supports the fine qualities that propel a human being into maturity. Après Fou is concerned with affirmations, not aberrations. It sets attainable standards, gleaned from the wisdom available to humanity from all times and cultures. Wisdom always points the way to Après Fou. From beyond conflict there is harmony, from beyond harm there is harmlessness, from beyond nihilism there is meaning, from beyond fear there is fearlessness. Not a theory, not a game, but actuality. This is the mature position of the human. This is the beginning.

It is one thing to identify problems or limiting situations, it is quite another to work in solution. When we publish or post something it must be free from the madness, the conflict, the chaos of the limited and confined. The demand to rise above and see and hear clearly is a prerequisite for Après Fou thought and expression. This standard is the benchmark for the work. We publish to present options to Fou. The productions are independent and privately funded, with all proceeds turned back into future projects.

THE LIFERS
On Thursday evenings the Lifers met in the town hall. The Lifers were not criminals; not in any way. In fact, they were devoted to harmlessness in every facet of their lives. They were interested in Life, not fear, not ignorance, not violence and above all, not tyranny. Well, you might ask, what were they interested in? read more
THE AGE OF STUPIDITY
"What was the most important age of humanity, sir?”
“Well, Michael, you know, I don’t think these ‘age’ designations are all that clarifying. Often they distort, and are very inaccurately named. I mean, look at what they referred to as the Age of Enlightenment.”
A DAY ON THE FARM
Someone had suggested to Sam that he write about his life. Okay. But he just couldn’t get started. Every time he began with, ‘I’m a farmer,’ and every time he crumpled up the page and got grumpy. Sam was not enjoying this.
WHY AM I SO WISE?
One morning two people said this simultaneously.

In the blink of an eye they were facing each other. Adrian was looking at Nadine and Nadine was looking at Adrian.

“Who are you?” they asked simultaneously.
APRES FOU
Ali woke up. He was stiff and cold and hungry. His leg hurt, and so did his back. He wiggled and pulled his Ak-47 out from under him. There, that’s better.
THE SPEECH
The great meeting hall that claimed to have been the site of so many momentous and historical moments was now hushed, as he made his way to the podium. Those ten steps were eagerly taken, but he knew they also sealed his worldly fate.
THE PHONE CALL
Albert’s mother called him, and after a friendly “hello dear” began raking him over the coals. “I just don’t understand. It’s so foolish to waste your life. How will you ever be able to take care of yourself? What if you should get ill? There’s nobody and you’ll have nothing. Well, take care dear. G’bye.” read more
